APPEASEMENT STYLE OF THE PROPHET (PBUH): A STUDY BASED ON THE TREATY OF HUDABIYAH
Abstract
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is well known for his advocacy of reconciliation and peaceful conflict resolution. Throughout his life, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to promote reconciliation between people and communities, even in the face of significant challenges and conflicts. One of the most significant examples of the Prophet's commitment to reconciliation is the treaty of Hudaybiyyah, which was signed in 628 CE between the Prophet and the Meccan leaders. The treaty, which was widely criticized by some of the Prophet's followers, provided a framework for peaceful coexistence and conflict resolution between the two sides. This paper highlights his teachings that continue to inspire and guide Muslims around the world in their efforts to build peaceful and inclusive societies.
